I did not grow up farming nor do I have a farm now. I make my living as Soil Conservationist for the USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service. Since joining the agency in 2020, I have been immersed in the culture of raising cattle and the experience has been a catalyst to my new-found dream of running my own herd. I recently had the opportunity to take a 3-day grazing intensive course taught by Gabe Brown, Dr. Allen Williams, and Jeremy Sweeten of Understanding Ag. That experience solidified my dream and now I will not stop until I'm producing nutrient-dense food on healthy soil through adaptive grazing.
It is my hope that this resource will open a door to acquiring land, which is the first step in achieving my agricultural aspirations.
