Heavier soils for our equipment typically go through chisel plowing, disking.
Lighter soils we attempt to get away with either disking, and if possible no-till. No post-harvest tillage on either, only pre-plant.

Corn, soybeans, wheat, corn rotation. (Wheat if, and only if it's possible given field conditions post-harvest.)
Hay ground open to rotation or directly back into hay.
