My vision of a future farm would be a location to support a solar grazing operation. Primarily holding a grazing flock in the off season (nov-April/May. The farm would serve as a key point for receiving and holding newly purchased sheep as well as lambing during the spring. Sheep not on solar sites would remain on the farm through the summer, as well as the rams. Regenerative bale grazing and grazing of stockpiled forage through the winter would be two of the practices implemented on the farm. The potential number of sheep on the farm would be small at first, growing to hundreds as the solar sites’ vegetation management needs increase.
