Goals, Values, Vision
Farming, for me, is about more than producing food. It is about being in the right relationship with the land, creating something real and nourishing, and building a life around meaningful work. Through my previous farm, I grew organic vegetables using organic practices, managed field and greenhouse production, and handled the business side through direct sales and community relationships. That experience taught me about stewardship, resilience, simplicity, and the kind of life I want to build.
My vision is to create a small, thoughtful farm operation that fits the land rather than forcing the land into a preset model. While I have experience with diversified vegetable production, I want to stay open to other opportunities that align with the character of the property, whether that involves vegetables, herbs, flowers, orchard crops, small livestock, or other complementary uses over time.
I am especially drawn to creating a place where people can reconnect with nature, slow down, and experience something real. I value stewardship, honesty, reliability, and practical, sustainable growth. What I bring is a combination of hands-on farm experience, business and operations experience, problem solving, and a thoughtful, grounded approach to building something with integrity.

Organic Practices
My previous farm was not certified organic, but I grew using organic standards and practices and was always transparent about that with customers. For a small operation, I chose not to take on the added paperwork at the time, but organic principles were important to how I farmed. Through Michigan State University’s Organic Farmer Training Program at the certified organic Student Organic Farm, I also became familiar with certified organic systems and the certification process. I also prioritized working with local vendors and U.S. suppliers whenever possible. If certification were important for the right opportunity, I would be open to pursuing it.
