Who I Am
I am the founder of Bodytruth Farms & Soap Apothecary, a handcrafted botanical skincare brand rooted in my experience as a grower, maker, educator, and entrepreneur. My journey began with a family garden that evolved into a community garden on our one-acre Detroit homestead, where my son and I taught families practical skills in growing, preparing, and preserving food while reconnecting with the land.
My Vision
My vision for Bodytruth Farms is a working botanical wellness farm and education destination in northern Macomb County or a neighboring region. The farm will produce culinary and medicinal herbs, flowers, and specialty crops used in our handcrafted products while serving as a place where people can learn, create, and experience the healing power of plants.
Over time, the farm will expand through phased revenue streams including microgreens, botanical ingredients, handcrafted soap and body care products, workshops, youth and homeschool education, maker experiences, agritourism, CSA offerings, and community partnerships. The long-term vision includes creating employment opportunities with a commitment to hiring veterans and building a farm that serves both people and place.
What I Bring
I bring a unique combination of agricultural vision, entrepreneurial experience, product development expertise, education, and business leadership. For years, I have cultivated and operated Bodytruth Soap Apothecary, developing botanical products inspired by the connection between healthy soil, healthy plants, and personal wellness. That work helped establish an existing customer base and validated demand for a farm-to-skin model that integrates cultivation, value-added production, and consumer products.
My background includes building businesses, developing brands, designing educational programs, managing projects, creating strategic plans, and turning ideas into sustainable systems. I understand both the creative and operational sides of enterprise development and bring a disciplined, long-term approach to building a successful farm business.
The vision for Bodytruth Farms is not starting from scratch. It is the next phase of work that has been developing over many years through growing, making, teaching, and serving customers. The farm will provide the agricultural foundation for an integrated operation that combines specialty crop production, botanical ingredients, handcrafted products, education, and community engagement.
I am committed to building a resilient and financially viable operation that honors the land while creating lasting value. With a business plan, phased development strategy, and clear long-term vision already in place, I am prepared to invest the time, energy, and stewardship necessary to make this farm successful for generations to come.
What I Need
I am seeking 5-10 acres with existing infrastructure such as a farmhouse, barn, outbuilding, greenhouse, or suitable production space. Access to water, room for botanical cultivation, and the opportunity to establish a long-term presence are important. I am open to lease, lease-to-own, stewardship, or partnership arrangements.
What I'm Looking For
I am seeking a relationship built on trust, shared values, and a commitment to keeping Michigan farmland productive, regenerative, and meaningful. My goal is to steward the land responsibly while building a thriving operation that benefits the owner, the community, and future generations.
Thanks,

Farming Method
Organic Practices
Bodytruth Farms & Apothecary will operate as a diversified farm utilizing organic and regenerative growing practices across multiple production systems. Hoop houses will support year-round and season-extended production of microgreens, leafy greens, transplants, and specialty crops, creating consistent revenue while improving production efficiency. Field production will focus on lavender, calendula, medicinal herbs, culinary herbs, and other specialty crops suited to local growing conditions.
The farm will incorporate a recirculating aquaculture and aquaponics system that integrates fish production with plant cultivation, conserving water through recirculation while supporting year-round food production and diversified farm income. Beekeeping will support pollination and biodiversity throughout the farm, while laying hens will be integrated into the operation for egg production, fertility management, and natural pest control.
Soil health and ecological stewardship are foundational to the farm's management approach and will include composting, pollinator habitat development, beneficial insect management, and regenerative growing practices. Water conservation strategies include rainwater harvesting, compost-based soil improvement, and evaluation of cistern storage to support irrigation resilience and reduce dependence on external water sources.
As the farm grows, controlled-environment and vertical growing systems may be added to increase production capacity and extend seasonal availability. The overall farm model is designed to balance environmental stewardship with economic sustainability through diversified production, responsible land management, and multiple complementary revenue streams.
