Goals, Values, Vision
Our goal is to build a permanent, diversified family farm where we can put down roots, care for the land over the long term, and make farming a central part of our livelihood. We have six years of experience growing for CSA, farmers markets, and wholesale accounts, and we currently farm through an incubator program. That experience has helped us build a strong production and marketing foundation while also showing us how important secure land access is for making long-term investments in soil, orchards, livestock systems, infrastructure, and community relationships.
Our vision is a mixed farm centered on diversified vegetables and fruit, with orchard crops and livestock integrated in ways that fit the land. We are especially interested in building a farm system where annual crops, perennials, pasture, and livestock support one another through thoughtful rotations, fertility management, soil building, and careful water use. We value practical stewardship, organic and regenerative practices, financial sustainability, and adapting the farm to the strengths of the property rather than forcing a predetermined model onto it. We want to build a farm that is productive and economically viable, but also resilient enough to support our family for decades.
We bring complementary skills to that goal. Kelsey has extensive experience in hands-on crop production and farm management, including certified organic production and managing crops within a diversified farm that also raises sheep. Trevor farms alongside her and works professionally in agricultural conservation planning, with experience in soil and water management, irrigation, livestock systems, farm infrastructure, climate resilience, and long-term agricultural viability. We are also passionate about helping new and beginning farmers. Having benefited from an incubator ourselves, we hope that wherever we eventually farm, we can continue mentoring, training, or creating opportunities for other farmers as our operation becomes established. Ultimately, we are looking for more than acreage—we are looking for a farm we can learn, improve, steward, and carry forward as a working agricultural landscape for the long term.
