The City of Ann Arbor's Greenbelt program is looking for a farm to purchase under its Buy-Protect-Sell (BPS) Initiative, launched in 2023. Under BPS, the Greenbelt purchases farmland at appraised value, encumbers it with a conservation easement, then re-sells the protected property at a reduced, fixed price to a land-insecure farmer.

Goals, Values, Vision
We are open to many types of farms. Farms can but do not have to include agricultural and/or residential buildings. All inquiries will be evaluated on an individual basis; however, we ask that your farm meet the following criteria:
- No smaller than 14 acres
- At least 5 acres must be in active agricultural use or similarly prepped for active use
- Within the Greenbelt boundary (see image, or call/email if unsure)
- The Greenbelt surrounds the City of Ann Arbor, encompassing much of the Townships of Webster, Northfield, Salem, Superior, Ypsilanti, Pittsfield, Lodi, and Scio
The City reserves the ability to administratively decline to purchase a property for its BPS initiative.
