My long term plan would be to live on a homestead that could provide the majority of the things my family needs to live comfortably and provide some if not all of our family income. I would prefer to raise animals and have fruit trees but at this point I am looking to learn any and everything I can. I work full time while my wife stays at home with our one child and another on the way. We currently rent a house out in the county of West Olive just north of Holland. We are outgrowing our home and looking to purchase a house in the coming year hopefully with some land where we can have some animals and greatly expand our gardening capabilities. We don't have the funds to really go all in so we will have to start slow and small. We are looking to learn everything about working with the land sustainably with both plants and animals. We have a small herb garden and grow some vegetables in the summer but don't have ability to go beyond that with our landlord. We are just starting this journey and are looking for all the mentorship we can get.
