Goals, Values, Vision
My vision is to create a vibrant greenhouse space that blends agriculture, education, and community. I see Dendro’s Greenhouse not just as a place where seedlings and herbs are grown, but as a local landmark where people can experience the magic of plants, learn new skills, and feel connected to the food they eat.
At the core of my vision is a greenhouse operation focused on seedlings, herbs, and microgreens, crops that are affordable, fast-growing, and in high demand in Michigan. These crops make it possible to serve diverse markets—local farmers’ markets, neighborhood groceries, restaurants, schools, and CSAs—while also offering specialty plant kits for families and educators.
Over time, I plan to expand beyond production into community engagement and food access. I imagine hosting workshops for kids and adults, building partnerships with schools to supply classrooms with bird-safe herb kits and seedling trays, and working with community gardens to boost local growing efforts. My brand is deeply inspired by nature and birds—I want visitors to feel like they’ve stepped into a living, enchanted greenhouse where learning and growth go hand in hand.
I also see Dendro’s Greenhouse as a local food security anchor. Bellville and the surrounding areas need more reliable, fresh, locally grown food. By creating a year-round controlled growing environment with greenhouse infrastructure, I will help fill seasonal gaps, reduce food miles, and make it easier for families to access healthy options close to home.
Ultimately, my vision is about growth in every sense: growing plants, growing community, and growing opportunities for others. By securing land and building this space, I will not only create a sustainable farm business but also a place of inspiration and resilience that supports Michigan’s local food system for years to come.
