We’re a family seeking acreage to build a self-sustaining farm rooted in faith, stewardship, and community. Our vision includes raising elk or caribou, keeping chickens and horses, and growing our own food. We hope to create a place that nourishes both people and the land—a refuge where foster youth can learn, heal, and find hope for the future.

Goals, Values, Vision
Our dream is to find a piece of land — at least 20 acres of mixed pasture and woodland in northern Michigan — where faith, family, and hard work come together to build something lasting. We envision a peaceful, God-centered farm that is both a home and a mission: a place where we can grow roots, raise animals, and create opportunities for others to thrive.
Our vision is to establish a self-sustaining operation that serves as both a homestead and an income-producing farm. We plan to raise elk or caribou for meat, keep chickens and horses, and grow an apple and peach orchard, berry bushes, corn, vegetables, and flowers. Our goal is to feed our family from the land, sell our harvest at local farmers markets, and eventually welcome visitors through agritourism programs that celebrate Michigan’s beauty and the value of honest work.
Beyond farming, we feel called to create a place of refuge and renewal — a faith-filled environment where children in the foster system can learn practical life skills, experience the peace of nature, and find hope for the future. Whether through a mentoring or transitional home program, we want to pour love, stability, and opportunity into the lives of young people who need it most.
Our guiding values are faith, family, compassion, courage, love, hard work, and service. We believe that when people care for the land and one another, entire communities prosper. This farm is more than a dream; it’s a calling — one we trust God to lead us in and equip us for.
We bring hands-on experience, a strong work ethic, and a deep love of the outdoors. My husband has worked on a horse farm, and together we’ve developed skills in animal care, gardening, and land stewardship. We’re ready to do the work and to learn as we go. What we need most now is the right place to begin — land we can nurture and, in turn, allow to nurture others.
