Hello and thanks for taking the time to read my profile. I am Jason and I currently work as a Firefighter/Paramedic. I grew up around farms. I lived in a rural area about 20 minutes south of Big Rapids. Besides the dairy heard we did a lot of row crops including soy beans, wheat, and corn. I also helped out on a farm that did strictly potatoes. I was young and wanted to see something other than farming so I got into public safety and currently reside in Battle Creek. Well after 20+ years I'm ready to continue to help people but in a different way. I am looking for mentorship with and end goal of lease to own an operation and am willing to relocate to do this. Farming has always been a passion you can ask anyone i know! My farming style will be conventional with an emphasis on row crops. I believe that the ground gives us only what we give it. I want to make sure that the ground i am farming has the best nutrients it needs to provide the best crop it can. I also want to run the best equipment possible and with that i want to take pride in my equipment by keeping it clean and maintain it mechanically as well. I will take pride in the farm that I run and own. I admit that i will need some mentorship to get started. With my history in the public safety sector i am always learning and researching and i can bring this to the farm with keeping up to date with current technology and practices. There is obviously so much more to know about who i am who my family is and what kind of farm i want to own.
