I’m currently at the beginning stages of a dream that means a lot to me — building a small family farm with a few livestock animals and creating a more peaceful, sustainable life for my children and myself. Right now, I live in an apartment, but my goal is to purchase a home with land within the next year so I can officially begin this journey.
I know farming is not something you learn overnight, which is why I’ve been spending as much time as possible researching, learning, and trying to understand both the rewarding and difficult parts of this lifestyle. I want to go into this realistically, not just romantically.
What I’m truly hoping for is honest guidance, mentorship, and insight from people who have experience living this life firsthand. I would deeply appreciate open conversations about the realities, challenges, lessons learned, and advice you wish someone had given you when you first started.
