Goals, Values, Vision

Future farming plans and expectations are to build a regenerative livestock rotation consisting of cattle, goats, and chickens, along with a small vegetable garden for our family. The vision for our farm is to create a space where future generations can learn about farming, hunting, and being in the outdoors where God intended us to be good stewards of the land. This is a 20-30 year process.

The skillsets that will help me build out our organization; an understanding of sustainable farm practices, water management, pest management, learning and building a sustainable business model and financially sound business plan, the ability to understand and implement software to support farming practice, basic mechanic skills, building on network and community building, a hunger to learn subjects well, and tenacity. On top of my outdoor experience I have a diverse background in movement and youth development with a focus on learning how to overcome trauma.

Organic Practices

I grew up learning on a friend of the family's ranch in Mexico then stopped when I went to high school. I've spent my time learning these last few years under La Semillita Community garden and Farmers Rising in Illinois. I spent years learning from gardeners in the community about organic and regenerative practices. I am continuing my learning through books and local farmers in the area as well as workshops when I can attend them.
