I've been foraging for over ten years, and I have a license from the State of Michigan to certify the sale of wild foraged culinary mushrooms. I've successfully grown plenty of variety of food crops in small scale / container gardening arrangements. I have some hands on experience with raised garden beds. I'm also an avid seed collector & native plant enthusiast. I can identify most of our locally concerning invasive plant species, and I can grow an array of native wild plant species. I truly have a desire to turn this knowledge into an opportunity within the agricultural industry - I just don't have any land to get started on.
My longterm goal is to acquire land of my own with which to start a food forest. I want to learn permaculture techniques and land revitalization in order to create a longterm, sustainable food plot that requries less maintenance than traditional farming, while also producing less environmental impact compared to traditional farming.
