Juan Mayta

My dad’s parents ran a busy farm with fruit trees and coffee, while my mom’s family raised sheep and made beautiful blankets. Inspired by them, I studied agronomy, earned degrees (including a PhD in soybean breeding), and planned to return to Bolivia. But marrying my wonderful wife from West Michigan brought me here. I’m eager to carry on the farming tradition in Michigan and promise to be a dedicated steward of your farm and its legacy.

Goals, Values, Vision

I value hard work, honesty, and staying humble, but I never stop looking for ways to improve. I believe in doing my part to make things better for everyone, not just myself. My journey here hasn’t been easy. I earned scholarships, put myself through school, and became a U.S. citizen through sheer determination. I know what it means to roll up my sleeves and get the job done. I'll bring the same work ethic and determination to any new opportunity and challenge in a farming operation

My main goal is to take great care of the land. Making sure it stays healthy, productive, and has a positive impact on the people around us. With my background in agronomy and plant breeding, I’ve spent the past 20 years working closely with Midwest farmers, so I know the ins and outs of U.S. agriculture and what it takes to keep a farm thriving.

Throughout my career, I’ve focused on bringing new ideas and real innovation to farmers. I’d love to put that experience to work with you, helping your farm not only succeed now but also setting it up for the next generation. My goal is to make sure we leave the land even better than we found it, so future families can enjoy and benefit from it just like I have.

I also like to have fun, better yet when it is shared with loved ones, I enjoy simple things, but I am open to experiences. Family gatherings with our family in Michigan, Texas and Bolivia are my favorites.
