Goals, Values, Vision

I am a small farmer who is not new to farming as my family has a cattle farm in Arkansas. I am starting my own farm in Michigan under my business name as Ozaree Farms LLC. My father has been training me on the basics but now I am looking to having my own small organic cattle farm operation with my daughter while ensuring the highest standards of animal care, welfare and sustainable farming approaches. It is my goal to grow the cattle herd while using good organic farming practices that promote soil health and biodiversity. It is my vision to serve as a model for new start up farmers for producing premium, organic and ethically raised beef cattle. I strive to build a self-sustaining farming system that supports healthy land, animals, and the community. I hope to make a meaningful impact on the local food system and inspire others to embrace organic sustainable farming practices. The skills that will help me to build my farming operations include knowledge of traditional and modern organic farming principles, proficiency in holistic animal health care, consumer health and safety and farm sales and marketing. In relation to my farming experience, I have a MBA in Human Resources Management which provides me with a business acumen and operations management to ensure good standards of operational management. I also I have a commitment for continuous professional development on learning emerging trends and practices regarding sustainable pasture management to navigate the challenges with organic cattle farming to ensure long-term success and resilience of my farm. I am a start-up and I am looking for some land to lease for a period of time while I work to save money to buy some land to have ownership of the farmland. I am looking more for 1 to 3 acres to start out, I want to start small to manage cattle on a smaller land and look to expand as I have grown more cattle and to use the land for the cattle in a way that is productive for sustainability and growth. I don’t want to take on more than my daughter and I can handle as a startup.
