We’re Lyd, an environmental scientist, and Andy, a 4th-generation farmer. Together we run AJ Ries Farms, blending tradition with sustainability. We grow diversified vegetables for two farm stands, raise beef cattle, chickens, and honey bees, and plan to transition to organic. Our dream is to find a farm to raise our future kids, with space to expand, host events, enjoy wooded acreage, and ponds—a place to grow into a true family farm.

Goals, Values, Vision
Our farm is diverse and growing — we raise beef cattle, chickens, honey bees, and produce a wide variety of vegetables, enough to supply two large farm stands and feed our surrounding community. Looking ahead, we are excited to transition into certified organic production, building on practices that care for the soil, water, and overall ecosystem.
Our long-term dream is to find a farm where we can raise our future children and expand AJ Ries Farms into a place that reflects our values and vision. We imagine a property with enough acreage to support not only our crops and livestock, but also spaces for ponds, wooded areas, and open fields. We hope to create a farmstead that is both productive and welcoming — a place where we can host educational and community events, share our love of agriculture, and inspire others to connect with where their food comes from.
Ultimately, we want to build a legacy farm that blends generational knowledge with modern sustainability, creating a home and livelihood that will last for generations to come.

We currently try our best to be as eco friendly as possible and implement BMPS where possible. Lydia works with conservation agriculture groups in her professional career and we are interested in implementing everything we can along the way.
