I am a teacher, a mother of 4, and dog mom to 2 greyhounds. My children think they'd like to homestead altogether, so we are looking into the possibility. It is hard to find a place for everyone...they have jobs and lives of their own, and we are all about as different as we are alike. We'll see what's out there. We would like organic, some animals, fruit trees and bushes, room to grow enough to live on, and woods to explore. Hunting would be good someday, fishing, bees and maple trees too.

The only experience any of us has is with gardening, and helping with a friend's chickens and ducks. But our family is close-knit, hard working, and ready to focus on a simpler life with things more like how they used to be, like our grandparents lived. We want to enjoy each other, the land, working outside, taking care of animals, and eating healthy produce.
