Goals, Values, Vision

My goal is to establish a dedicated home base for Against The Grain Bison Co., a regenerative, pasture-raised bison operation I've been building for the last 5 years through direct-to-consumer sales at farmers markets across Southeast Michigan. I currently keep animals at another farm while I search for land to call my own.

I was raised on a cattle farm in Bowling Green, OH, and that upbringing shaped everything about how I approach land, animals, and hard work. I want that same life for my family and especially for my son.

Coming from a cattle background, I have applied the same foundation to bison production, with a focus on low-stress handling, rotational grazing, and raising animals the way they were meant to live. The business is already generating revenue and has an established customer base. I'm not starting from zero, I'm looking for the land to grow into.

My vision is a working farm that produces clean, ethically raised bison for families who care about where their food comes from. As a veteran, I bring discipline, problem-solving, and a long-term commitment to whatever land I steward. I'm not looking for a quick flip, I want to set roots.
