Vision for the Farm
We are seeking a farmer (or farmers) interested in developing a diversified, small-scale operation using organic or regenerative practices. Ideal uses include some combination of:
- Vegetable production / market garden
- Sheep or goats for meat, milk, cheese, or wool from sheep
- Honey bees
- Small orchard
This opportunity is focused on food production and land stewardship rather than agro-tourism.
We are especially interested in working with someone who values soil health, ecological farming methods, and building a productive landscape over time.
Past/Current Land Usage
Acreage description
In September 2025 we purchased 7 acres of formerly tilled farm land to build our retirement house. Our goals for this property center on stewardship of the land, building self-sufficiency, and creating a small homestead over time. We plan to be supportive but separate from day-to-day farm operations and are seeking a farmer who values independence while collaborating respectfully when needed.
Description of the property’s current condition, current use(s), and past use(s)
- Open field with northward slope
- Previously tilled (a few years ago)
- Approximately 3 acres suitable for cultivation and/or grazing
- 2 acres planned for native meadow and aspen planting
- 2 acres reserved for residence, outbuildings, and small vineyard
- Water and electric service are planned as part of site development
- Property is in early development, offering flexibility in layout and systems
- No plans for agro-tourism
Infrastructure is currently minimal, allowing an incoming farmer to help shape how the productive acres are organized.
Additional Information
This is a chance to help shape a farm from the ground up on land that is being intentionally brought back into production at Aspen Meadows. We are offering a long-term lease (5 years or longer preferred) and are open to collaborative planning around field layout, fencing, orchard placement, and livestock integration within the overall vision for the property.
Lease terms are flexible and can be discussed based on the proposed farming plan and timeline.
