Vision for the Farm

We are seeking a farmer—or ideally a farming family—who want the opportunity to actively work and steward a productive piece of land under a long-term lease arrangement. The lease terms are intentionally flexible and essentially cost-free, as our primary goal is not rent, but to see the land responsibly and thoughtfully farmed.

This property has been in my family for five generations, and its continued use as working farmland matters deeply to us. We are looking for someone who values the land and is interested in building something lasting.

The farm includes approximately 150 acres of tillable ground within a 210-acre parcel, with additional acreage potentially available in the future. Existing features—such as water access, a greenhouse for plant starts - make it a great place to vegetable farm. There is also the possibility of on-site housing being included as part of the arrangement.

In addition, my parents—both of whom have farmed their entire lives—would be willing to mentor and share their knowledge with a prospective farmer. This could be especially meaningful for a beginning or transitioning farmer seeking guidance, practical experience, and continuity of knowledge alongside access to land.

This opportunity is rooted in trust, legacy, and long-term vision. We are open to creative arrangements and hope to partner with someone who sees farming not just as a business, but as a calling and a responsibility.

If you are a farmer looking for land to grow into—without the burden of land acquisition costs—and are interested in a long-term, good-faith relationship, we would welcome a conversation.

Acreage description

We are seeking an experienced farmer or farming operation to steward and actively farm a diverse and well-situated agricultural property. The core parcel consists of 210 acres, of which approximately 150 acres are tillable. Portions of this acreage are currently in hay production, while the balance has been used for vegetable cultivation or left fallow, providing flexibility for crop planning, rotation, or transition into new uses.

The property is well-equipped to support productive farming, with an irrigation pond, a small lake, and an on-site greenhouse for plant starts and season extension. These features allow for a wide range of cropping strategies and offer resilience in variable growing conditions.

In addition to the primary parcel, we also have an interest in a contingent 330 acres, creating the potential for future expansion if additional land is desired or required. The landscape includes areas of mature maple forest, contributing to the character of the property and offering opportunities for conservation, maple syrup production, or diversified farm income.

This land presents an excellent opportunity for a farmer seeking established acreage, water resources, and room to grow within a long-term, collaborative arrangement.

Soil Type(s)

We have great soil for vegetables. It is somewhat clayish, it is not sandy, and it holds moisture well.
