Vision for the Farm

The amount of listed acreage is not for sale or lease but this opened up a rental opportunity, as the house  was recently vacated. We are interested in having it occupied by folks that can appreciate it and the surroundings. Gardening and chicken space are available right away and wood for heat as the house has a wood boiler. Half the acreage is in managed forest land and the possibility exists for working off some of the rent. Some equipment usage and additional space will be available over time. We would want to know your experience with land and tools and, of course, compatibility.

Acreage description

We've lived and farmed this land since 1971.  Organic beef, rotational pastures, hay, large CSA in the past.  Have always grown our own food.

Description of the property’s current condition, current use(s), and past use(s)

We have a rental house with a garden spot, some coop and barn use available, plus other growing land is available.

Additional Information

We are MAEAP verified for all categories.  We are Sweetwater Local Foods Market verified for organic practices.  Our woodlands are in the Tree Farm Program and 140 acres are in the Qualified Forest Act.

Soil Type(s)

Variable from clay to sand and almost all of it is in sod and fenced. Gardening areas are sandy but fertile and well drained. We have had mixed results with others using our land and prefer not to break it up without more assurance that it will be cared for.
