Vision for the Farm

We are interested in seeing this land move into the hands of a farmer looking to tend and care for the property as it is part of water quality in the Leelanau watershed space. We would love to see healthy practices of farming and the land tended to. We had hoped to farm it ourselves while allowing the community around us to continue to use the trails, but we have opted to do something else. I have a background in Permaculture and so my hope is to see this land loved in those sorts of methods whether through healthy grazing of animals or the grapes being brought back to life on the property we would love to see that.

Acreage description

This rolling 22 acres is intended for pasturing. There are 2 natural springs and a two-track access. At this time there is no electricity or water established on the property. It is bordered by 2 working horse farms who use the property to walk and ride their horses. There is also a half-acre of white varietal grapes that were planted over 15 years ago with infrastructure for them. There is also a 20x30 pole barn on the property with large ceilings and a cement floor. The property is Qualified Agricultural as well and there are many ground nesting birds.

Description of the property’s current condition, current use(s), and past use(s)

This land as far as we know has only been used for horses and for grapes in the last 20 or so years.

We have been in talks with the conservancy about an easement and are happy to continue these convos if this felt aligned with the future owners.
